DEATH LAST WEEK OF MODESTO CITY ATTORNEY
E. R. Jones, city attorney of Modesto and attorney for the Modesto Irrigation District, died May 
5th at his home at the country seat, death being due to pneumonia.

The deceased attorney was a native of England, aged 50 years.  He had resided in California 35 
years, and had practiced law in Stanislaus County for 8 years.  He was highly respected for his 
ability and integrity.  Besides his wife he leaves a son, Lawrence Jones, and a daughter, Miss 
Dorothy Jones.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian Church.
