Barrington Marjorie L 000224 p8 Marjorie L. Barrington, 73; A woman well known on the West Side died Monday at her Newman home. Marjorie Lorene Barrington, 73, was a native of Blythe and had lived in Newman for many years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Orestimba United Presbyterian Church and the Newman 50-Plus Club. She was a former member and past president of Theta Zeta Sorority, past president and captain of the Turlock Golf and Country Club s Women s Club, and captain of the Forebay Women s Golf Club. She was an avid golfer and RV traveler. Private burial will be held. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Orestimba Presbyterian Church, 1107 Kern St. in Newman. Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Hurd Barrington of Newman; a son, Gene Barrington of Virginia City, Nev.; three daughters, Linda Gonsalves of Crows Landing and Susan Cope and Annette Gomes, both of Newman; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; her mother, Minnie Steger of Gustine; and two sisters, Betty Clement of Gustine and Vivian Britt of Sacramento.
