Fay E. Eddy Beatty, 58;  A former Patterson resident has died at the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto.  Fay Ernestine
(Eddy ) Beatty died March 4 after a short illness.  She was 58.  A native of California she lived here some 10 years and
attended Patterson High School before graduating from a boarding school in Utah.  She was the daughter of the late
Wilber D. and Gracie Mae Tschantz.  For the past 25 years she resided in the Mt. View-Sunnyvale area.  She served as
facilities director at Ohlone College in Fremont the past five years.  A memorial service will be held this Friday, March
13, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lucy Evans Baylands Nature Interpretive Center in Palo Alto.  Survivors include a son, Sean
Beatty of San Francisco, and a daughter, Laura Beatty-Kimball of Los Altos.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances should be
sent to the Santa Clara Valley Audubon Society, 22221 McClellan Rd., Cupertino, Calif 95014.
Becker Earl 980129 p10
Earl Becker, 85;  Word has been received of the death of former Patterson resident Earl Becker.  He died Jan. 3 in
Rancho Cordova.  He was 85.  A native of Green Bay, Wis., he came to Patterson from his native state in 1952 first
tending bar for Frank Fialho and then working at Patterson Frozen Foods.  He moved from Patterson to Sacramento and
enjoyed playing golf.  Survivors include six children; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters,
Kay Krause and Irene Betry both of Patterson and Mary Jane Alexander of San Jose.  He was preceded in death by his
wife.
