Services Pending For Carl Benward; Carl Benward, 55, died suddenly at his home on East Las Palmas Avenue early
Tuesday morning from a heart attack. Funeral services are pending, and interment will be at The Dalles, Oregon.
According to Mrs. Benward. nothing will be decided until A. V. Benedict, a brother-in-law, arrives from The Dalles.
The Benward's have lived in Patterson and Westley the past six years.  They came to California 11 years ago from
Oregon, where they were married.  Benward is a native of Joplin, Missouri, and his family moved to eastern Washington
when he was two years old. He had been a construction truck driver until an accident sidelined him about three years ago.
Since then he has worked for farmers and started a chicken ranch.  Mrs. Benward does not plan to continue the chicken
business. He is survived by his wife Olive Ruth and two children, Charlotte Ruth and Charles David.
