Graveside Rite this Friday for Andrew Bergman; A graveside service will be held here Friday for Andrew Bergman, 86,
who died early this week in San Jose after a short illness. A native of Sweden, he had resided in Patterson on North Sixth
street from 1922 to 1957. He was employed by the Patterson Water District and was on the police reserve and was known
in this area as a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the Elijah A. Hayes American Legion post here, and a
former member of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Survivors include his wife Amy, of San Jose; two sons, Andrew
Bergman Jr. of Minnesota, and Orville Bergman of San Diego; four daughters, Audrine Wehinger, Elaine Kirk and
Buelah McKee, all of San Jose; and Mardell Strickland of Modesto; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. The
graveside service at the Patterson District Cemetery will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.
