Paul J. Bernard

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today for Paul J. Bernard of Crows 
Landing, who died Monday in a tractor accident.
Mr. Bernard, 84, was a native of Downey and lived in Crows Landing 37 years. He 
previously lived in Chino. He was a self‑employed farmer for 70 years and a 
parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Patterson. He served in the U.S. 
Army during World War II.
Mr. Bernard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret R. Bernard of Crows 
Landing; son, John Bernard, and his wife, Katie, of Patterson; daughter, Paula 
de Boer, and her husband, John, of Alameda; brothers, Henry Bernard of 
Atascadero and Joe Bernard of Hesperia; four grandchildren; and four 
great‑grandchildren.
Today�s Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 529 I St., 
in Patterson. Burial will follow in Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 
33, in Patterson.
Visitation will be observed at 8:30 a.m. today at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 
W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Bernard�s name may be sent to Father Connors 
Endowment Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1174, Patterson 95363.
