Rites Held for John Bernardino; A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday in the Holy Ghost Catholic Church for
John Bernardino, 53, of Gustine.  The rosary was recited Friday evening in the Evans-Krieger Funeral Chapel.  Interment
was in Hills Ferry Cemetery. A native of Terceira, Azores, he had lived in California the past 11 years. He leaves his
widow, Mary Jo of Gustine; a sister Maria Gomes of Lisbon; and a brother, Joe Vierra of the Azores.  He was a member
of the Luzo American Society.
