Bettencourt Emily L 930629 p10 Emily Bettencourt, 85; A longtime West Side resident who had lived in Patterson the past 12 years died Sunday at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Emily L. Bettencourt died at age 85. She retired many years ago as owner of the Bettencourt Market in Gustine and later in Crows Landing. She was a member of Our Lady of Miracles Church and its Altar Society, Gustine, as well as the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a native of Novato. A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine, with visitation to begin at 4 p.m. prior to the rosary. A Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m., also at Our Lady of Miracles. Burial in Hills Ferry Cemetery, Newman, will follow. Hillview Funeral Chapel, Gustine, is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a son, Francis Bettencourt of Ceres; a daughter, Gloria Inaudi of. Patterson; six grandchildren' and seven great -grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Reis of Jamestown and Joseph Reis of Sonora; and five sisters, Clarice Oliveira, Mildred Avilla and Carmen Fish, all of Gustine, Katherine Lopez of Fresno, and Virginia Gardner of Santee.
