Bettencourt Margaret R 791108 np Margaret R. Bettencourt memorial set; A memorial service will be held at the Federated Church on Saturday, Nov. 17. at 11 a.m. for Margaret Ruth Bettencourt. 84, who died Sunday in the local hospital after a brief illness. A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota. she had been a Patterson resident since 1912 when she arrived here from Cannon Falls, Mimi. She was a graduate of Children s Hospital in San Francisco and a retired nurse. She is survived by her husband, Dr. George L. Bettencourt of Patterson; two sisters, Evelyn West of Sacramento and Vera Peterson of Scotts Valley and a brother, Dr. Paul Larson of Richmond, Virginia. Mrs. Bettencourt was a past matron and deputy guardian of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the Patterson 50-Plus Club, Senior Citizens of Modesto, Women's Society of the Federated Church, Patterson Study Club, Del Puerto Hospital Women s Auxiliary, California Retired Teachers Association, Mendocino Research Society and the Patterson Township Historical Society. The family requests that any remembrances. be given to the Federated Church.
