Bettencourt Shirley 981208 p11 Shirley Bettencourt, 61; Final rites are slated here Wednesday for longtime West Side resident Shirley Bettencourt. She died last Friday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto following a short illness. She was 61. Born in Tulare, she had lived on the West Side for 55 years before moving to Modesto. She had worked as a teachers aide in the Newman Crows Landing School District and was a member of SPRSI, UPEC, SCEA, and the Tracy Golf and Country Club. A vigil will be held this evening, Tuesday, at 7 o clock at the Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. A Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman to follow. Visitation at the chapel will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Survivors include a son, James F. Bettencourt Jr., and a daughter, Rosanne Christopherson, both of Patterson; a stepson, Gary Bettencourt of Tacoma. Wash.; three grandchildren; and three brothers, Michael Perry of Washington, D.C., Robert Reed of Colorado, and Marion Cliets of Tulare. Remembrances should be sent to T.O.S.C.A., P.O.
