Bettes Died Monday, Funeral Today; Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at Evans Funeral Chapel for John Franklin Bettes, 71, who died Monday at his home, 317 South Fifth. St., after a long illness. Interment will be in Patterson District Cemetery. A native of Norman, Oklahoma, he came to California in 1938, and has been employed as maintenance foreman at the Heinz Co. in Tracy for the past 25 years. He had lived in Patterson since his retirement eight years ago. Survivors are his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Harrison of Phoenix, Arizona, and three brothers, Charles Bettes, and Harry Bettes of Patterson and William R. Bettes of Heavener, Oklahoma.
