Bierman Alice C 501026 p1 Oakland Woman Killed In Auto Accident; A truck and car collision Tuesday afternoon three miles south of Patterson on Highway 33 claimed the life of Mrs. Alice C. Bierman, 51, of Oakland. The accident occurred when her husband, August Bierman, attempted to pass a truck. The truck made a left turn at the same time, ramming into the car, causing it to skid out of control and hit a power pole on the Southern Pacific right of way. Mrs. Bierman was thrown 20 feet from the car and was apparently killed instantly. The couple was taken to Del Puerto Hospital, where Mr. Bierman is bing treated for multiple bruises on the head and arms. Two fingers on his left hand are severely lacerated. The Bierman's were en route to Gustine for duck hunting. The truck was driven by Edward Joseph Baetz, 18, Crows Landing. It is owned by John Van Hoven, also of Crows Landing. No citations have been given. Mrs. Bierman is also survived by a son, Paul, of Oakland. Burial services will be in Oakland.
