Birch Bill 930914 p12
Bill Birch, 53;  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 11 a.m. in the Graham-Hitch Funeral Chapel in
Pleasanton for former Patterson resident Bill Birch.  Born March 25, 1940 in Palo Alto, Birch died Sept. 8 in Pleasanton
of a heart attack.  He was 53.  During the 23 years Birch lived in Patterson, he was a general building contractor, taught
sixth grade at Las Palmas School, was a part time instructor for Modesto Junior College, was a member of the Patterson
Fire Department, an EMT and president of the Patterson Boosters Club.  He is survived by his children, Catherine and
Michael Birch, and one grandchild.  He is also survived by his widow, Joanne, and stepchildren of Pleasanton.
Internment will be private.  His children request any remembrances be made to the Patterson Fire Department for rescue
equipment.
