Bishop Arthur A  710114 np
Arthur Bishop Dies in Hospital in Los Angeles; Funeral services for Arthur A. Bishop, 74, were held Tuesday in Los
Angeles where he also was buried.  He died Saturday in St. Vincent s Hospital in that city. He leaves his wife, Betty
Bishop, of Los Angeles. His parents, William and Martha Bishop, came to Patterson in 1910, he as an employee of
Standard Oil Company.  She was a nurse here for many years accompanying the doctor on his house calls before
Patterson had a hospital.  Also, for many years, she acted as Mrs. Santa Claus at community Christmas parties for
children. Arthur Bishop left Patterson after finishing school here, but has been back and forth to town over the years
keeping in touch with his old friends.  He was a veteran of World War I, and manufacturer of the Trimmer Edge lawn
mower.
