Bloom Cedrick P 880609 p10 Former Resident Cedrick Bloom; Former Patterson resident Cedrick Parnell Bloom died Monday in a Turlock hospital at age 74. He was a native of San Jose and resided in Patterson for 14 years before moving back to Gustine where he grew up. He was a farmer. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Hillview Funeral Chapel in Gustine. Visitation will be today, Thursday, from 4-8 p.m., also at the chapel. Burial will be in Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman. He was a past worshipful master of Hills Ferry Masonic Lodge and a past president of the Westside Shrine Club. He was a member of the San Leandro Aahmes Temple, San Jose Scottish Rite Bodies, Merced-Mariposa Scottish Rite, and Patterson Eastern Star chapter. He is a former director of the California Farm Bureau. He graduated from Gustine High School in 1932 and from San Jose State in 1937. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Bloom of Gustine; three sons, Roger of Turlock, Khaled of Gustine, and Peter Bloom of San Rafael; a daughter, Melissa Bloom of Mill Valley; two brothers, Donald of Santa Cruz and Robert Bloom of San Juan Capistrano; two sisters, Polly Scheuch of Portola Valley and Mildred Haack of Gustine and two grandchildren. The family requests that contributions be sent to the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital in San Francisco.
