Elvina Madeline Borba

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday for Elvina Madeline Borba 
of Crows Landing, who died Thursday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Mrs. Borba, 86, was a native of Newman and lived in Crows Landing for 86 years. 
She was a homemaker for 65 years.
Mrs. Borba was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in 
Crows Landing. She was a member of the U.P.E.C. and S.P.R.S.I. Portuguese groups 
and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Altar Society.
Mrs. Borba was a retired teachers� aide for Bonita Elementary School in Crows 
Landing, where she worked for many years.
Mrs. Borba is survived by her son, Ernie Borba of Sparks, Nevada; daughters, 
Barbara Silva and her husband, Tony, and Mary Ann Freitas and her husband, 
George, all of Ceres; brothers, Manuel Cardoza and his wife, Doris, of Crows 
Landing, Lloyd Cardoza and his wife, Linda, of Patterson; sister, Mary Zaballos 
and her husband, John, of Hayward; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Ernest Borba, who died in 1991.
Tuesday�s Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 
529 I St., in Patterson. Burial will follow at Patterson District Cemetery, 
10800 Highway 33, in Patterson.
A visitation will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, followed by a recitation 
of a rosary at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in 
Patterson.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Borba�s name may be sent to American Cancer 
Society, 1604 Ford Avenue Suite 8, Modesto 95350.
