Borba Gilbert Sr 931223 p14
Gilbert Borba, Sr., 83; Longtime Crows Landing resident Gilbert Wesley Borba Sr. died Wednesday at Doctors Medical
Center in Modesto.  He was 83.  A native of Atascadero, he had lived in the Crows Landing area the past 53 years.  He
was a retired truck driver who had been employed by the Shell Oil Company for many years.  He was a former member
of the Crows Landing Lions Club and that community's fire department.  He was a member of FDES and UPEC.  A
rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman.  A Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10
a.m. at St. Joachim's Catholic Church in Newman, with burial in Hills Ferry Cemetery to follow.  Visitation will be
Thursday from 4 p.m. until the rosary, also at the Newman chapel.  Survivors include his wife, Ada Borba of Crows
Landing; a son, Gilbert Borba Jr. of Patterson; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.  The family requests that
remembrances be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 423, Patterson.
