Mass Today for Joe Borges Sr.; Mass of Christian burial will be said at Sacred Heart Catholic Church today, Monday, at
10 a.m. for Joe C. Borges Sr., 82, who died Thursday in the local hospital.  Interment will be in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
A native of the Azores, he had lived in this area over 60 years.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the IDES.
He is survived by two sons, John Borges and Joe Borges Jr., both of Patterson; five daughters, Mazy Poretti of Los
Angeles, Evelyn Reis of Patterson, Clara Borba and Alice Borrelli, both of Modesto and Bea Morais of Turlock; several
brothers and sisters in the Azores; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
