Mary Angela Borges   Oct. 9, 1912 � Feb. 25, 2006
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday for Mary Angela Tavares Borges of Patterson, who died
Saturday at English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.  Mrs. Borges, 93, was a native of Tercera, Azores, and had
lived in Patterson for 23 years. She was a homemaker, a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a
50-year member of the U.P.P.E.C., a Portuguese group.  Mrs. Borges is survived by her son, Stanley Borges of Santa
Rosa; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph V. Borges,
in 1967, and by two brothers and two sisters.  Thursday's Mass will begin at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
529 I St., Patterson. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Friday in Tulare Public Cemetery, 900 E. Kern St., Tulare. Visitation
will be observed from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., Patterson.  Memorial
contributions in Mrs. Borges' name may be sent to Father Connors Endowment Trust Fund, P.O. Box 1174, Patterson
95363; or to Alexander Cohen Hospice House, 4368 Spyers Way, Modesto 95356.
