J. W. Bowman, Nonagenarian Passes Away; Events of the Civil War were a boyhood memory for Joel W. Bowman who
passed away Wednesday morning at the advanced age of 94. Born in Indiana in 1852, he has resided in California for 64
years and in Patterson for 34, being a Colony pioneer also. He is survived by two daughters Mrs. Jessie Crittenden of
Patterson and Mrs. Maxine Sipes of San Francisco, as well as three grandchildren, including Clarence Crittenden of
Patterson, and one great grandchild. Funeral services will he held at the Evans Funeral Chapel this afternoon at 2:00
o clock, in charge of C. C. Lovelady and W. Davis.  Interment in Del Puerto Cemetery will follow.
