Briggs James A 980521 p10 James Andrew Briggs, 57; Longtime Patterson resident James Andrew Briggs, well known in the community, died Tuesday at Doctors Medical Center. Called "Jimbo" by his friends, he was 57. He was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious in his home on the weekend. Born in Ordway, Colo., he moved to Patterson with his family when he was 6 years old when his father came to work on the construction of the Delta Mendota Canal. After attending local schools he worked for a number of years in the construction trade. A celebration of life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at his home at 17025 Del Puerto Ave. Survivors include two children, Wendy Ramirez of Patterson and Kelli Briggs of Modesto; two grandchildren; his mother, Gladys Briggs of Patterson; a brother, Robert Briggs of Colorado; and a special friend, Lindy Paul of Patterson.
