3 Year Old Patterson Boy Dies in Crash;  A 3-year-old Patterson boy was killed Saturday evening in a car accident west
of Turlock.  Taye Brown died at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock following the 5:55 p.m. crash at Fulkerth and Crows
Landing roads, while four others were hospitalized, California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Kilhian said.  Everyone
involved was wearing proper seat restraints, he said.  It was a very, very unfortunate accident," he said.  Thye s 41-year-
old mother, Latanya Brown, remains at Emanuel in moderate condition.  Brown s 42-year-old husband, Carter Brown,
was treated for minor injuries and released from Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.   The Browns  14 year-old-daughter
was also hospitalized and released from Doctors Medical Center.  The report says the accident occurred after Latanya
Brown stopped the van at the intersection.  Brown made a left turn in front of Patterson resident Selina Rios, 22, who was
headed south at about 65 mph in a 1987 Plymouth Grand Fury.  Doctors treated and released Rios from Memorial
Medical Center in Modesto.

Taye Jean Brown   Jan. 4, 2001 � Oct. 16, 2004
Services were Friday for Taye Jean Brown, 3, of Patterson, who died Oct. 16 at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock from
injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  A native of Walnut Creek, Taye lived in Patterson three months.  He is
survived by his parents, Carter and LaTanya Brown of Patterson; a brother, Steven Stencil of Patterson; a sister, Brittni
Napier of Patterson; grandparents Tyrone and Linda May Graves of Pittsburg and Christine Brown of Lake Charles, La.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Calvin Brown.  Services were held at Patterson District Cemetery.  Hillview
Funeral Chapel, in Patterson, is handling arrangements.
