Robert Burriss
April 23, 1942 — June 25, 2010
A celebration of life will be Thursday, July 1, for Robert “Bobby” Burriss of Patterson, 
who died Friday, June 25, at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Mr. Burriss, 68, was a native of Oahu, Hawaii, and lived in Patterson 21 years after 
moving from Hayward. Mr. Burriss worked 30 years in the aerospace industry and was 
last employed as a graphitizing processor at Kaiser AeroTech in San Leandro. He 
worked on numerous space missions, including the Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle 
missions.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was a 
Disney enthusiast.
Mr. Burriss is survived by his wife, Linda A. Burriss of Patterson; sons, George Franklin 
Burriss of Patterson and Kyle Everette Burriss of Escalon; daughter, Mia Shayleen 
Mendes of Oakley; sisters, Mary L. Hosino of Hawaii and Louise Reveira of Modesto; and 
eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Beth Souza; his parents, George and 
Leonora Burriss; his brother, George Edwin Rodrigues; and two grandchildren.
Thursday’s celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. 
Las Palmas Ave., preceded by visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Private burial will follow at 
a later date in Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33.
