Buse Russell L 740103 p1 Autopsy of 2 Bodies Reveals Both Shot; The possibility of murder became definite early this week after an autopsy revealed that two young adults were shot about two months ago. Their decomposed bodies were found late Sunday afternoon in a small house on Marshall Road belonging to Earnest F. Nunes of Crows Landing. The autopsy the next day revealed both the men and the woman were each shot once. Two shell casings were found at the scene. The body of the women has been identified as that of Charlotte Lee Melborg, 21. Her husband Robert and two young children reportedly moved out of the Marshall Road house they rented from Nunes sometime late in October, and moved to southern California. The other body remains tentatively identified as that of Russell Lee Buse, 27 of Patterson. He reportedly had been seeing Mrs. Melborg prior to the breakup of her marriage. The bodies were found after John N. Silva of 2842 Apricot Ave. went to the Nunes property to remove rabbit hutches. He reported the strong odor coming from the small house on the back portion of the property to Nunes, and Nunes entered the house by removing a padlock on the back door. The front door was locked from the inside, all of the windows were closed, and the lights were off. A paper dated Oct. 21 was found in the house. Mrs. Melborg was arrested in Patterson for being drunk. in public that same day. Her body was found nude, lying spread eagled and face up in the living room. The body of the man was fully clothed except for shoes and was discovered in a corner of the same room.
