Dan Alvin Dark    Aug.19, 1933 � March 27, 2005
Services will be Thursday for Patterson resident Dan Alvin Dark, 71, who died Sunday at his home.  Mr. Dark was a
native of Rockville, Mo., and had lived in Patterson 58 years.  He was a 1951 graduate of Patterson High School and
served in the U.S. Navy.  He was a self-employed heavy equipment operator for 50 years and owner operator of Dan Dark
Construction.  He was a member of the Modesto Area A's Model A Ford Club, a member of  WHEAT (Western Heritage
Engine & Antique Trailers) Club and a 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Union.  He loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Dark of Patterson; three children, Glen Dark of Vale, Ore., Vern Dark of
Cincinnati, Ohio, and Danette Stoddard of Modesto; his mother, Thelma Dark of Patterson; a sister, Ruth Gomes of San
Jose; and six grandchildren.  Visitation will be observed from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W.
Las Palmas Ave. Thursday's funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow in Patterson District
Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 601 McHenry Ave., Suite C, Modesto 95350.
