Death of Aged Painter Sunday; W. J. Davis, local sign painter, passed away Sunday at the county hospital following a
short illness.  He was 82 years of age.  Interment was made at Modesto. Davis had been a local resident for about six
years past.  He was in Alaska for many years during the gold rush days and had many interesting tales of that country.
Nothing is known of any surviving relatives.
