Israel Z. DeLeon, 48;  Final rites were held here Friday for former Patterson resident Israel 7. DeLeon.  He died Nov. 23
at his home in Salinas.  He was a native of McAllen, Texas, but grew up here. He lived in Patterson for 40 years before
moving to Salinas three years ago. He worked in agriculture all of his adult life.  A Mass was celebrated Friday morning
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was a member. Burial was in Patterson District Cemetery.  Survivors include
his care-giver, Maria M. Maldonado of Modesto; son Israel Zepeda DeLeon Jr. and daughter Anita DeLeon Garcia, both
of Modesto; three grandchildren; six brothers, Arnulfo DeLeon, Joe Cantu, Alejandro Cantu and Jacinto Cantu, all of
Turlock, Javier Cantu of Stockton, and Benny Cantu of Patterson; and two sisters, Sylvia Cantu and Angelita Rivas, both
of Turlock.
