William James Del Nero Jr., 58;  Services will be held later this week in Merced for former Crows Landing resident
William (Bill) James Del Nero Jr.  He died Saturday at Vencor Hospital in San Leandro following a long illness. He was
58.  A native of Crows Landing, he served in the U.S. Army from 1964-67 and lived in the Atwater-Merced area since the
I970s. He was a real estate broker and was very active in the community and the Italian Catholic Federation.  A rosary
will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Merced, where a Mass will be celebrated Friday at
I0 am.  Burial will be private.  Survivors include his wife, Nettle Del Nero; four sons, Bill, Chris, Michael and Arron, all
of the Merced-Atwater area; four stepchildren and 10 step-grandchildren; two brothers, Alan of Waterford and Gary Del
Nero of Ceres; and a sister, Arlene DeOliveira of Patterson.
