Dennis Sam H 010123 p3 Sam H. Dennis, 82; Longtime Patterson area resident Sam M. Dennis, a retired farmer, died Saturday at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. He was 82. He was born in Pauls Valley, Okla. and had lived here over 50 years. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Patterson and had been active in the Patterson 50-Plus Club. Before retirement he served on the board of the West Stanislaus Growers Association. Over the years he closely followed the athletic program at Patterson High, especially when his grandchildren were participating. A service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, with burial in Patterson District Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., also at the chapel. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Dennis of Patterson; a son, Darryl Dennis of Patterson; a daughter. Anita Reineke of Modesto; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Telbert Dennis of Patterson and M.C. and Andrew C.Dennis, both of Modesto; and five sisters, Ruth Stevens of Exeter, Letress Perkins of Lindsey, Okla., Connie Murray and Sue Mundy, both of Modesto, and Janice Newnold of Turlock.
