Patterson Irrigator, 07/11/2007, p 5 Wednesday, July 25 th at 2:30 pm Nelia Mae Denton May 1, 1916 � July 6, 2007 A funeral service will be Thursday for Nelia Mae Denton of Sacramento, who died Friday at Sutter Oaks Midtown Convalescent Hospital in Sacramento. Mrs. Denton, 91, was a native of Roswell, Ga., and had lived in Sacramento the past 10 years. She previously lived in Modesto for two years and Gustine for more than 40 years and was well known on the West Side. Mrs. Denton worked eight years as a route carrier for the Merced Sun Star. She was a member of Neighborhood Church of Modesto, Westside Christian Center Church of Gustine and Neighborhood Outreach Fellowship Church of Sacramento. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking Mrs. Denton is survived by her son, James Ron Denton of Modesto; daughter, Wanda Denton Novak, and her husband, Bobby, of Sacramento; son-in-law, Ernie Nunes of Crows Landing; brother, James �Otha� Lazenby of New York; sister, Vera Faye Faulkenberry of Oregon; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Denton, and a daughter, Joyce Nunes. Thursday�s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel, 1258 R. St., in Newman. Burial will follow in Hills Ferry Cemetery, 1334 W. Stuhr Road, in Newman. Visitation will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
