Patterson Irrigator, 04/01/2010, p 13 Rita Mae Sutton Dickinson 01/14/1938 – 03/23/2010 A celebration of life has been observed for former longtime Patterson resident Rita Mae Sutton Dickinson, who died March 23 at her home in Sonora. Mrs. Dickinson, 72, was born Jan. 14, 1938, was a native of Woodland and lived in Sonora four years. She previously lived in Patterson for more than 40 years, and she also lived in Paso Robles. Mrs. Dickinson worked as an office manager at Bonacich Orchards and previously was the bookkeeper for Pacific Tomato Growers for many years. She was a teacher’s aide in the Patterson Unified School District and a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She enjoyed dancing and loved her family and friends. Mrs. Dickinson is survived by her husband, John J. Dickinson of Sonora; daughters, Christiana Watkins and Stephanie Filbin, both of Patterson; stepdaughters, Suzanne Ahumada of Lemoore and Jennifer Carreiro of Valley Springs; stepson, John J. Dickinson Jr. of Lemoore; brother, Harry Hass of Patterson; sister, Brenda Nylund of Lynnwood, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brent and Dorothea Hass; and an infant brother, William Hass. Hillview Funeral Chapel of Patterson, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., handled arrangements. Burial was private.
