Rites Set for Demetrio Duran; Final rites will be held here late this week for Demetrio G. Duran, 80. He died Sunday at
his Patterson home following a long illness.  A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Hillview Funeral Chapel
in Patterson. A Mass will be said Friday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was a member. The Rev.
Tom Cargo will give the Mass. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery will follow. A native of Mexico, he was a retired
farm laborer who had lived in Patterson since 1957 when he moved from his native country. Survivors include two sons,
Francisco Duran of Patterson and Eduardo Duran of Bakersfield; two daughters, Josephine Duran of Patterson and
Refugia Gomez of Mexico; one sister, Angela Duran of Mexico; three brothers, Jose, Nicolas and Ambrosio Duran, all of
Mexico; 26 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren.
