Final Rites Here for Joe Dutra, 84; Final rites were held here Wednesday for former Patterson resident Joe Dutra who
died last Saturday in Morgan Hill at the age of 84. He had been ill for some time. The Rev. James Connors said the Mass
Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart Church. Burial followed in Patterson District Cemetery.
A rosary was said Tuesday evening at the Evans Funeral Chapel. A retired dairyman, he moved to Patterson in 1956 from
Oakdale. He had lived in Morgan Hill since 1980.  He was a native of the Azores, and a member of UPEC and IDES, as
well as the Sacred Heart Church here. Survivors include one son, Vince Dutra of Morgan Hill; one daughter, Mary
Phillips of Escalon; two brothers in the Azores; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
