Pioneer Patterson Resident Passes; One of Patterson s pioneer business men passed away Monday morning when the
influenza epidemic claimed Robert Edwards as its victim, pneumonia ensuing from which be failed to rally, following his
removal to a Modesto hospital. Mr. Edwards came to Patterson in 1911 when the new community was just assuming
shape and showed his faith in its future by erecting the Edwards building, one of the first brick structures in the new
town.
