Eggers William 690605 np Funeral Services Held for Former Pattersonite; Funeral services were held May 28 in the chapel of Hotchkiss Mortuary, Tracy, for William Eggers, 80, who lived in Patterson from 1923 to 1939. He died in a Tracy convalescent hospital after a long illness. Interment was in Tracy Cemetery. A native of San Joaquin City, a community about 10 miles south of Tracy that has now disappeared, he lived most of his life in the Tracy, Patterson and Stockton areas. While in Patterson, he was a ranch superintendent for Del Monte Corporation. The family left here for the Rio Vista area. Most of his life and at his retirement he was an operating engineer. He was a veteran of World War I, and served with the Eighth Mounted Regiment of the Marine Corps in Cuba in 1919. He is survived by eight children, Dennis, Norman L., Robert and William Eggers and Mrs. Meralee Light, all of Tracy; Kenneth Eggers of Milpitas; Mrs. Betty Machado of Santa Cruz, and Mrs. Beverly Derrick of San Jose. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Louise Raffensperger, Mrs. Carrie Kennner and Mrs. Emma Gonzales, all of Tracy; l4 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
