Phyllis E. Ellery, 83;  Phyllis E. Ellery, a 64 year resident of the Westley area and well known on the West Side, died
Saturday at Valley Comfort Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.  She was 83.  Born in San Diego County, she was well
known and active in the community. The homemaker was a past president of the Del Puerto Hospital Auxiliary and was a
life member of California Women for Agriculture. She had also been a member of Children's Home Society and the
Rising Sun School Mother's Club.  A private family burial at Patterson District Cemetery is planned for Wednesday. A
gathering at the home of her son, Henry Ellery of Westley, is scheduled Wednesday from 11:30 am. to 1:30p.m.  Hillview
Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.  Survivors include her son Henry, daughter, Margaret Alves of
Sacramento, four grandchildren, and a brother, Steven Davies of Vista.  Remembrances should be sent to the Steven
Ellery 4-H Memorial Fund, or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
