Emmons, Betty M 060805 p10 Betty Marie Emmons Feb. 18, 1926 � Aug. 1, 2006 Services will be today for Betty Marie Emmons of Patterson, who died Tuesday at her home. Mrs. Emmons, 80, was a native of Kansas and had lived in Patterson for 70 years. She was selfemployed and owned D & B Communications for 22 years. She was as a dispatcher for the Patterson Fire Department, a Little League coach and a Girl Scout leader. She was also involved with the Patterson Apricot Fiesta. Mrs. Emmons is survived by her sons, Harold Lea Emmons and Howard Gene Emmons, both of Patterson, and David Lynn Emmons of Fallon, Nev.; daughter, Donna Marie Beffa of Modesto; brothers, Clifford Brainard of Ceres and Leroy Brainard of Modesto; sisters, Leila E. Kirchoff of Wisconsin, Jane Murphy of Bridgeville, Leola Mello of Turlock, Margaret Santos of Modesto, Beulah Boyd of Rocklin and Winifred Brainard of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Emmons, and a brother, Eugene Brainard. Today's graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Patterson District Cemetery, 10800 Highway 33, in Patterson. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Emmons' name may be sent to Patterson Fire Department, P.O. Box 565, Patterson 95363; or to Patterson Apricot Fiesta Fireworks Fund, P.O. Box 442, Patterson 95363. Hillview Funeral Chapel, 450 W. Las Palmas Ave., in Patterson, is handling arrangements.
