Donald Lea Emmons, 73;  A graveside service will be held here Friday for longtime Patterson resident Donald Lea
Emmons.  He died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto after being in declining health. He was 73.  A native
of Gibbs, Mo., he had lived in Patterson for 56 years, 45 of those working as a truck driver for Kings County Trucking.
He and his wife Betty also owned and operated D & B Communications, a local answering service, for 17 years.  A
graveside service will be held Friday at 10 am at Patterson District Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson.  Survivors include his wife, Betty Emmons of Patterson; three sons, Harold Lea
and Howard Gene Emmons, both of Patterson, and David Lynn Emmons of Fallon, Nev.; a daughter, Donna Beffa of
Modesto; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and four sisters, lva Snyder of Missouri, Eileen Reger of
Salinas, Mary Dias of Patterson, and Geneva Perez of Salem, Ore.  Remembrances should be sent to the West Stanislaus
