Ilo Elillian Engen;  Ilo Elillian Engen, who had lived in Patterson for 79 years, died last Wednesday at Brandel Manor
Convalescent Hospital in Turlock.  She was 89 and had been at Brandel Manor a short time, having lived at El Solyo
Village in Patterson for a number of years.  A native of Beltrami, Minn., she moved here with her family when she was 10
years old. Her parents were the late Henry and Elizabeth Thompson.  After graduating from  Patterson High School in the
class  of 1932, she became a homemaker after marrying Erling Engen. She was a member and active volunteer in Our
Saviour?s Lutheran Church and was a member of the Sons of Norway.  For some 15 years, she served as a volunteer
cook at Del Puerto Hospital.  A memorial service will be ~eld Saturday at 9 a.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel.  Survivors
include two sons, Henry of Merced and Norman Engen of Gustine, as well as three grandchildren and four great-
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and one grandchild.  Remembrances may be made to
Memorial Fund, Our Saviour?s Lutheran Church, 650 W Las Palmas Ave., Patterson.
