Bernabe Garcia Rites Are Today:  Final rites will be held today, Thursday. in Modesto for former Patterson resident
Bernabe B. Garcia, 58, who died Sunday in a Palo Alto hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Arizona who had
lived in Modesto the past 21 years.  For 12 years he was employed as a custodian by the Patterson Unified School
District. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of both World War II and the Korean war, and was a member of St. Stanislaus
Cathoilc Church. A rosary was recited Wednesday evening and a Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. today in St. Stanislaus
Catholic Church.  Burial will be in the family plot. Survivors include his wife Maxine of Modesto; three daughters, Sister
Kathleen Ann Garcia of Reno and Brenda Bernice Bailey and Teri Gail Garcia of Modesto; one brother, three sisters, and
two grandchildren.
