Garcia Jose 010807 p9 Jose �Popo Garcia, 65; Word has been received here that Jose "Popo" Garcia died July 17 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas, on his 46th wedding anniversary. He was 65. A Mass was held July21 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Galveston. Burial was in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. He was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico. the son of Arnulfo and Isidra Alvarez Garcia. He worked as a pile driver in the construction industry and was a member of Carpenters Local 526 of Galveston as well as Pile Drivers Local 2079 of Houston. He enjoyed spending time with his family and driving his tractor and gardening at his ranch, as well as fiddling with his many knick-knacks in his back yard. Survivors include his his wife Eduvina Garcia of Galveston; two daughters, Irma Garcia and Herminia "Minnie" De Los Santos and her husband Jimmy; all of Galveston; two sons, Jose A. Garcia and wife Judy of Santa Fe and Johnny Garcia and companion Gina Ramirez of Galveston; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Esther Sandoval and husband Vicente of Patterson, Maria Villafranca and husband Isaac of Harlingen, Texas, Alicia Garcia and husband Ruben of Patterson, and Gloria Garcia of Patterson; three brothers, Raul Garcia and wife Raquel, Jesus Garcia and wife Maura, and Ruben Garcia, all of Galveston; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
