Rites Held for Maria Garcia, 69; A Patterson area resident since 1965, Maria J. Garcia was buried here Monday after a
Monday morning Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She died last Wednesday in a Newman convalescent hospital
following a long illness. She was 69. A native of Texas, she moved to Patterson in 1965 from her native state. She was a
homemaker. The Rev. Tom Cargo gave the Mass. A rosary was recited Sunday evening at Hillview Funeral Chapel.
Survivors include five daughters, Antonia Garza of Texas, Gloria Gonzalez of Modesto, Maria Flynn of Texas, Hope
Gonzales of Patterson, and Eva Soza of Wasco; two sisters, Dionicia Fuentez and Concepcion Jimenez, both of Idaho; 24
grandchildren, and seven, great grandchildren.
