Garcia Modesto 620830 p1 Five Dead In Auto Accident--Three From Patterson; A family reunion turned out to be a tragedy for the Alberto Cordova family of 207 C Street, Patterson. Returning from the happy occasion at Napa, Alberto Cordova was following the ill- fated car in which his 21 year old wife Alice and 14 month old daughter Susan were passengers along with his brother Arthur 22; and his sister-in-law Modesto Garcia, 13; and his brother Edward, 17. He watched as the tail lights of the car disappeared around a curve on Highway 29, 13 miles north of Napa. A few minutes later he came upon the car which had crashed into a tree and all five occupants lay on the ground � thrown from the car. His wife and daughter were dead as was his brother Arthur and the other two passengers. Mrs. Cordova is survived by her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Garcia of Napa. She also leaves two sisters and four brothers. Arthur is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Severo Cordova of Patterson and a sister Rachel, and three brothers, Alberto, David and Severo Cordova, all of Patterson. A Rosary was recited in the Evans Funeral Chapel on Wednesday and a Mass will be said at the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery and Father H. J. Beutler will officiate.
