Patterson Irrigator, 07/08/2010, p 6 Lynwood “Mayrick” Gardner December 30, 1935 - June 29, 2010 Lynwood “Mavrick” Gardner age 74, died early Tuesday at his home in Modesto surrounded by family. He was born December 30, 1935 to Pennie and Floyd Gardner, just outside Jackson, North Carolina. After a 20 year career in the Navy, he settled in Patterson, CA and worked for 20 years at Westside Irrigation as a Ditch Tender who provided water to the Westside farmers. He was a 16 year Navy Veteran and a 4 year Marine Veteran. He enjoyed spending time with family and listening to his favorite team the Los Angeles Dodgers on the radio. He will be dearly missed by everyone who loved him. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen Luise Gardner of Modesto, his 3 sons; Russell Gardner of Modesto, Randy Gardner and his wife Isabel of Patterson, Richard Gardner and his wife, Carol of Patterson; brother, Fred Gardner of Arizona; sister, Barbara Balanski of Maryland; 6 grandchildren, Heather Gardner, Jonathon Gardner, Matthew Gardner, Mike Gardner, Richard Gardner, Maygen Gardner and 3 great grandchildren. A visitation was held Tuesday, July 6th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson. A Graveside Service with Military Honors was held Wednesday, July 7th at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine. Remembrances may be made to: Charity of Choice. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Patterson.
