Garza Felipe Jr 860109 p1 Local Youth's Heart May Be Transplanted to Ashlock; The heart of a Patterson youth who died suddenly over the weekend may be transplanted into 14year-old Donna Ashlock, it was learned Sunday afternoon. Ashlock was moved to Presbyterian Hospital in San Francisco Friday to await a donor ( see related story on this page). Felipe Garza, Jr. of Patterson was pronounced dead Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital. The 15-year-old youth had complained to his parents of feeling ill Saturday while at home, and later was rushed to Del Puerto Hospital. He apparently suffered a blood clot and was put on a life support system. His liver is to be donated to a Sacramento boy, it was learned, while his kidneys also will be used in a transplant. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church where Garza was a member. A mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, also at the church. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery will follow. Survivors include his parents, Felipe and Marie Garza of Patterson; two brothers, John Sanchez and Tony Zepeda, both of Patterson; two sisters, Sandra and Marjie Garza of Patterson; and a grandfather, Eusibio Maldonado of Modesto.
