Garza Modesta 971216 p14 Modesta Garza, 61; Final rites for a former resident will be held here this week. Modesta Garza of Modesto died Sunday at Doctors Medical Center following a short illness. She was 61. A native of Uvalde, Texas, she lived in Patterson for many years before moving to Modesto. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St Jude s Catholic Church in Ceres and was a volunteer worker for Modesto s Brown Bag program. A rosary will be recited tonight, Tuesday, at 7 o clock at Hillview Funeral Chapel. A Mass is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery will follow. Visitation at the chapel will be from 5 p.m. until the rosary. Survivors include a son, Daniel Garza of Sacramento; a daughter, Maria Duran of Ceres; seven grandchildren; two brothers, William Quiroba of Texas and Pete Quiroba of Patterson; and two sisters, Estella Ortiz of La Pryor, Texas, and Anita Garza of Patterson.
