Gaspar Alfred I 821223 p1 Final Rites Today for Alfred Gaspar, 73: Final rites will be said today, Thursday, for Alfred I. Gaspar, who died Tuesday after a short illness. He was 73. The Rev. Tom Cargo and the Rev. James Connors will say the Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Patterson District Cemetery will follow. A rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Evans Funeral Chapel. He was a native of Oakland and attended St. Mary s College. 1n 1930 he married Mary SaVieira in Oakland, and two years ago they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. About 40 years ago the Gaspar family moved to the Westley area where he farmed, and some 20 years ago the couple moved to Patterson where he was involved in the real estate business. He later became a partner in the Carvalho Travel Agency headquartered in San Francisco, and opened an office here. He was a member of Heart Church, a past president of Y.M.I, and a member of the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the U.P.E.C. and I.D.E.S. lodges, and a former member of the Patterson Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary Gaspar one son, Norman Gaspar and one daughter, Carol Nunes, all of Patterson as well as eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
