George Tony F 880126 p14 iervices Set for Local Farmer; Tony F. George, a longtime Crows Landing resident, died in a Modesto hospital Sunday after a long illness. He was 67. A rosary is Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman. A mass is Thursday at 10 am, at St. Joachim s Catholic Church in Newman, Burial will be at Hills Ferry Cemetery. George, a Gustine native, was a self employed farmer who lived in Crows Landing since 1923. The World War II Navy veteran was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Crows Landing Pentecost Assoc. Turlock VFW, Ceres Senior Citizens, Newman 50-Plus Club, Newman IDES, Crows Landing SES, and UPEC. He is survived by his wife, Mabel George of Crows Landing; two sons, Anthony George of Crows Landing and Melvin George of Modesto; two sisters, Mazy Ramos of Newman and Ida Souza of Crows Landing; a brother, Manuel George of Crows Landing, and two grandchildren.
