Peter Goetz

A private service is planned for Peter Goetz, 84, of Patterson, who died Sunday 
at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto surrounded by his family.
Mr. Goetz was a native of San Diego, and the son of Peter and Conchita Goetz. He 
lived in San Diego until 1984, when he moved to Patterson.
Mr. Goetz entered the U.S. Army at the age of 17, serving in World War II from 
1943 to 1945 in Africa and Europe.
After returning home, he worked as a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier.
Mr. Goetz then began a 31 year career with Convair/General Dynamics Electronics. 
After retiring from the company, he was a driver for McAuley Ford in Patterson. 
He was an avid sports fan and baseball was his favorite sport. He also loved to 
cook. His family said Mr. Goetz was a man with a warm heart and friendly 
personality.
Mr. Goetz is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nita Goetz; and daughter, Barbara 
Goetz Cook, both of Patterson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary Cook; sister, Norma Williams; 
and stepsister, Elsie Dayton.
In lieu of flowers or contributions, the family suggests a random act of 
kindness for a stranger.
Turlock Funeral Home, 425 Soderquist Road, in Turlock, is handling arrangements.
