Anthony A. Gogga, 107;  Delightful to the end, Patterson's oldest resident died last Wednesday at age 107.   Anthony
Aloysius Gogga died at Foothill Manor in Patterson where he had lived the past several years.  He would have been 108
on Feb. 19.   He was a lifelong resident of California, having been born in San Jose in 1888.  When the devastating
earthquake hit San Francisco in 1906, his family's home burned.  The Goggas moved to Oakland and later returned to
San Francisco.  He outlived five brothers and three sisters.  His wife Eleanor died in 1979.  He left no immediate family.
He was a farmer and accountant, and in 1981 moved to the Vernalis area, where he resided until his move to Patterson.  A
prayer service was held Thursday night at Hillview Funeral Chapel.  A funeral service was held Friday afternoon at
Chapel of the Flowers in San Jose, followed by burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, also in San Jose.
